Awakening from the 20th Century - a provocative question: Will the computer replace the Automobile?
Born in 1944, a year in which no cars were manufactured in the U.S. because all of that industrial capacity was turned to the “War effort.”
The last car off the line in Michigan was a 1942 Hudson, a gray sedan with “victory trim” – it had no chrome. The war effort also included recycling of metal and rubber, gas rationing, and “victory gardens.” These are all good ideas for today as we face a much larger threat –the climate crisis and possibly the Sixth Extinction.
